Wins For Ballymac And Listowel Emmets

Our u12 girls team travelled to Castleisland to play Desmonds in a Round 2 game of the North Kerry League.

Despite not playing to our full potential in the first half we led at half time on a 2-7 to 1-3 scoreline.

Desmonds started the second half in determined fashion and added six points without reply to leave just a point between the sides midway through the half. However our girls then upped a gear and struck for the extra scores which saw us run out winners on a 3-14 to 1-12 final score.

This result sets up a final round decider with Austin Stacks to see who will be crowned North Kerry Division 1 Champions for 2018.

Na Gaeil Ladies    Na Gaeil v Listowel, Ladies U12 North Kerry League Div 2

We played in Listowel on Tuesday evening against a big and strong Listowel Emmets team. We started well with Roisin O’Mahony scoring an early goal and a point with help from Eve and Jessie.

Listowel responded with the same despite some great defending from Maja, Grace, Elsie Peig and goalkeeping from Katie. Siun scored some great points from free kicks after Chloe and Grainne got fouled. Roisin got another score after Grainne played in a great pass. Roisin Cantwell, Sarah Slattery and Sarah Kavanagh made their debuts for the U12’s as they came into defence and forwards to freshen things up. We went in at half-time level with Listowel.

Listowel took advantage of the wind and their strength for the start of the 2nd half with them getting a good few scores before we got a chance to settle. Caoimhe and Aisling came into the team to help settle things down and we got more scores through Ava, Roisin and Sorcha.

We started to settle with Aoife Barrett, Aoife Hartnett and Aoife Moynihan taking control of the defence. Listowel were making it difficult for us to score as we were putting on the pressure to try and claw back the 4 point deficit but unfortunately we ran out of time. Next game is at home to Corca Dhuibhne on Tuesday
